MEET THE OWNERS

BREEHANNAH YOUNG - OWNER/Executive & ARtistic DIrector

Hi! My name is Breehannah Young and I am one of the owners at Artistry in Motion Dance Company here in Katy, Texas.

Since I was 3 years old I have been in love with dance, in fact I even grew up dancing in this very studio that Artistry in Motion Dance Company now operates in. The fun, the excitement, the artistic expression, the discipline - it all helped me find confidence and learn how to connect with others and myself. Dance helped me find my voice, who I wanted to be and what I have to say, and what I want I want to share with others. Now as a teacher, owner, and mentor, I get to help shape young minds and lead them to find their voice. It has always brought me so much joy to watch my students grow, to see them learn who they are and express those ideas and thoughts through movement.

I always looked up to my mentors around me through out my life, and all held strong voices and different teaching methods that helped to mold and shape me into the person I am today. My dance teachers always supported me, pushed me, and they heard me. And it is my mission to carry on this legacy of passionate, supportive, and motivational teaching at Artistry in Motion Dance Company.

I am thrilled that I get to carry on this work with a very dear mentor and friend of mine, Hannah Taylor. She too grew up dancing here and we are so excited to continue this legacy of great dance in Katy, TX! To  be able to teach, lead and inspire a whole new generation of young voices is a gift and I and all of our instructors at Artistry in Motion Dance Company are honored that we get to be a part of each and every one of our dancers lives that walks through our doors.

Meet our team below they are fantastic! We can't wait to meet you at the studio!

*Breehannah graduated with her BFA in Dance from Oklahoma University. Prior, she attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts as a dance major and has been teaching dance for over 15 years.

Hannah Taylor - OWNER/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Hello! I am Miss Hannah I am so thrilled you are here learning about our studio!

When I took my first dance class, I never thought "I'm going to own my own dance studio one day." In fact, it was quite the opposite. I was 4 and decided I didn't like dance, but then 5 years later I saw my big sister on a stage and decided "Wow, I have to do this!" And now I own two dance studios, one in Olympia, WA and now Artistry in Motion Dance Company in Katy, TX.

I had an amazing first dance teacher, I will never forget her name - Miss Angela. She was and is everything I and our team hope to embody when teaching a new student - kind, loving, energetic, motivating, passionate and fun! But it was my two mentors "The Jazz Man" Mr. Steven Boyd (who I took class from in this very same dance studio) and my modern teacher Michelle Manzanales (director of the internationally recognized school Ballet Hispanico) that made me fall in love with the possibilities in dance and the movement, and joy of dance.

At this young age dance could help me see, do, feel, and be anything. I could feel the music, feel the pulse, feel the brain and body working, and feel movement becoming a story. And while I didn't realize it at the time, all of these feelings brought me stability, calm, safety, and a clear path to finding myself. The connection with my teachers, with the community, the shared energy and experience, and shared motivation provided me with a path to success. And now I know that no matter what life throws at you, the foundation of personal growth and self awareness that dance provides is unmatched.

And this... this is what we do here, what we hold so close to our hearts. Teaching dance is more than just teaching a class. I believe dance transforms lives and it is why I love owning dance studios! I hope every day to instill values in our students that will serve them in every aspect of their lives for years to come. I take huge responsibility in continuing education for myself and our team. And I am so proud to say that we truly do have one of the best teaching teams in the Katy area! They are energetic, dedicated, inspiring and ready to embrace every dancer. They are so incredible and I can't wait for you to meet them!

If you are looking for a new dance studio or a place to explore dance, you have found something wonderful here. I am so honored to get to be a part of so many lives and to help grow a studio with an old student and close friend of mine, in a sacred space that gave both Breehannah and I  so much. Get to know the team below. They are fantastic and happy dancing!

*Hannah has a BA in Business Administration, and a diploma from the nationally recognized High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as a Dance Major. Hannah's favorite performance experience was dancing with the world re-known Cirque du Soleil in Kona, Hawaii! Hannah also runs South Sound Dance in WA state and BE PRO DANCE, an online dance teacher training program.

Haley Poinsette

Haley Poinsette

Haley was a high-level athlete most of her life, dabbling in various sports before ultimately dedicating herself to gymnastics for the long haul.

Haley was homeschooled for the majority  of her life, transitioning into public school during her sophomore year of highschool, where she attended James E. Taylor in Katy, Texas.

Throughout her college years, she supervised and coached at an International Gymnastics Camp during the summers, where she had the privilege of connecting with Olympians, USAG National Team Members & Coaches, and the future generations of college gymnastics athletes.

Haley also continued to practice gymnastics, aiming to get picked up as a transfer student-athlete, which was a challenging endeavor.

Haley made the decision to transfer from Arizona State to The University of Houston - Main Campus, where she chose to major in Exercise Science and minor in Nutrition.

While at UH, Haley founded the club gymnastics team, which continues to thrive as a club sport on campus today. After graduating, she delved into personal and group training full time and later transitioned into general managing health & wellness studios from 2020 to 2023.

Nia zink

Haley Poinsette

Nia began her dance journey at the age of six in Detroit, Michigan. At the time, she trained in a variety of styles, but jazz and tap became her main focus.

When she turned 10, her family relocated to Houston, TX, where she continued her training at Artistry in Motion. She danced at this studio for nearly nine years, and during that time, She had the privilege of not only improving her technique but also growing as a person, the relationships she formed here are still important to her today, and she’s proud to say she’s still close friends with many of her dance peers years after she graduated.

Throughout her years at Artistry in Motion, she expanded her focus beyond jazz and tap. A few years into her training, she discovered contemporary and modern dance - styles that she quickly fell in love with. Her dance teacher, Ms. Bree, was a big factor in helping me explore and grow in these styles. Her teaching challenged Nia, broadened her knowledge, and pushed her to become a more versatile dancer.

Over time, she found that modern and contemporary dance where her passion truly lies and she began to specialize in these styles.

While training in Houston, Nia also had the honor of competing with the Artistry in Motion competition team. She received numerous awards for her solos, including the prestigious title of Mrs. Masquerade Houston (twice), Inductee at Hall of Fame, several special awards from different judges, and many more. These experiences not only sharpened her technical abilities but also deepened her love for performing and sharing her art with others.

In addition to my training at Artistry in Motion, Nia sought out multiple dance intensives to further broaden my horizons. One of her most memorable experiences was a week-long dance intensive in Chicago, where she had the opportunity to focus on contemporary dance and strength training. The intensive pushed her to new limits and helped her develop the physical strength and stamina necessary for more demanding styled of dance.

Perhaps one of her most exciting experiences was attending a two-week intensive in Barcelona, where she was able to study a wide range of dance styles, including ballet, modern, and techniques specifically designed to help dancers activate and control certain muscles in their bodies. The opportunity to learn from teachers from different countries and backgrounds was incredible, and it gave her a fresh perspective on dance. At the end of the intensive, she was given the chance to perform a 10-minute piece on one of Barcelona's stunning beaches. The experience was surreal-dancing in such a beautiful and unique setting is something she'll never forget.

Throughout her dance journey, She’s been fortunate to learn from incredible mentors and have the opportunities to grow both as a dancer and as a teacher. She’s been teaching dance since my freshman year of high school, sharing her knowledge and passion for movement with students of all ages and abilities. Nia’s love for being able to pass on what she’s learned over the years, and is grateful for the chance to inspire the next generation of dancers.
